Carolina Gimenez is an Argentinian-American writer, director and producer based in New York. A graduate of film school in Argentina, she has spent more than 15 years working across independent narrative film, documentary and television while developing her own work as a filmmaker.

She made her U.S. directorial debut with the short film Dolls and produced the independent feature Cubby, selected for the IFP (now Gotham) Narrative Lab and screened at festivals including Frameline, Outfest, NewFest and Inside Out Toronto. She has also produced the short film To All the Girls I Could've Loved Before.

Her production credits include The Panama Papers, Who Killed Malcolm X?, Black and Missing, Caregiving, and the narrative feature Egg. She is also a short-film programmer for the Lighthouse International Film Festival.

Carolina is currently completing The Artist of the Family, a personal documentary exploring art, family and legacy, while developing her next narrative projects In the Mood for a Date, Alone and co-directing The Price You Pay. Her work as a writer/director is drawn to intimate stories about people at emotional turning points and to the intersection of personal experience, identity and human connection.
